Initial meeting
When you book your free 30 minute initial meeting with me, I will send you an email with a Zoom link to join the meeting. If you haven’t used Zoom and have any difficulty then message me and I’ll help you.
The aim of this initial meeting is to help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you and it’s not like an actual counselling session. It will include answering any questions you have and talking a little about what brings you to counselling at this time. If I think that I may not be the best counsellor for you, I won’t hesitate to say so.
There is no obligation to book a counselling session but many clients also take this opportunity to talk about available times and book their first session.
First counselling session
When you book your first counselling session, I will send you an email with payment details and a copy of my usual working agreement and GDPR data privacy policy. I will also include either a Zoom link if you have chosen an online session or details to find my therapy room in Hartley Wintney if you have chosen an in person session.
Counselling sessions are normally an hour long and the session will be very individual to you. You are always the focus for the sessions and you are free to choose what aspect of your life you would like to talk about. If you’re not sure where you would like to start, I find it can be helpful to just start with whatever has been going on for you in recent days. This can often provide clues for what will be most helpful for us to explore.
If you have any further questions about how counselling might work for you then please don’t hesitate to book a free initial 30 minute videocall, as part of this will be about answering your questions.
